The division deals with the popular and important issues of the relationship between science and education as social phenomena in the light of the influences of historical, political, social, cultural, economic and other factors on them, within the framework of the contemporary STS concepts and theories, and the philosophy of science and education. . The research is conducted in collaboration with the section of the sociology of science and education, and with the section of ethnosocial research the history of philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy and Law, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The researchers working within this division received two Presidential grants: “Multiculturalism as part of the worldview of today’s youth of the North” (M.A. Abramova) and “Research universities in the regions: institutional, political and intra-social factors of development” (N.V. Golovko).
