This division includes all key themes of the Western-European philosophy, political science and anthropology which are traditionally referred to as “social philosophy”: Marxism and neo-Marxism, Weberianism, civilizational approach, world system analysis, risk society, knowledge society, structure of social ontology, social epistemology, theory of values, philosophy of law, etc. The research is conducted in collaboration with the section of the sociology of science and education, and with the section of ethnosocial research the history of philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy and Law, Siberian Branch of The Russian Academy of Sciences.
In addition to the theoretical developments, practice-oriented research outcomes are of great importance. The collaborative project “Ethnosocial processes in Siberia” (implemented together with the section of ethnosocial research at the Institute of philosophy and law SB RAS), has been monitoring ethnic and social processes at the territory of Siberian region for more than 20 years.
